It doesn’t take long for the Israelites’ faith to waver, after being given a basic set of rules, and to go back to their old way of doing things. Even assuming they had good intentions, we see how seriously God takes this. Studying His judgment of them in this moment will help us to understand and appreciate the grace He shows us today.
